The German yard at Wewelsfleth is building its seventh container feeder vessel for G.H.S. Global Hanseatic Shipping
Hamburg, 5 March 2009 – The “Euro Adventure” yard number 678 has been launched at Peters Schiffbau GmbH, Wewelsfleth, on the 23rd of February. G.H.S. Global Hanseatic Shipping GmbH & Co. KG based in Hamburg is the Managing Owner for the 900 TEU container feeder vessel.
Due to the lower high water at the river Stoer on the 21st of February and a limited time window the following day, launching could only happen on the 23rd of February. More than 300 guests had come to the shipyard at the estuary of the Stoer to observe the happening. Despite the postponement of the launching the company celebrated the successful phase of this construction.
“Euro Adventure” falls into the largest newbuilding in the 138 year history of Peters Schiffbau next to her sister type “Euro Discovery”. The laying down of the container vessel was done on the 11th of March, 2008 with expected delivery beginning May 2009.
G.H.S. is client of Peters Schiffbau for almost ten years. “As Wewelsfleth’ ship builders we highly esteem the trusty and enduring cooperation with this client, which cannot always be taken for granted in today times” as Mark Dethlefs, Managing Director of the shipyard, points out.
“Euro Adventure” is at present the seventh container feeder ship of G.H.S. built at Wewelsfleth. Martens particularly cherishes the quality and on schedule delivery of the North German shipyard of tradition. “Peters Schiffbau offers us tailor-made solutions ‘Made in Germany’. Thereupon we trust also in future.”
